Project Transformation provides summer camp opportunities for underserved children and families in our area while also providing leadership development for young United Methodists in college. You can learn more about this great ministry at projecttransformation.org.
One week each summer, Arborlawn UMC provides volunteers to read with children during a Project Transformation Camp hosted by University UMC on Berry Street. Reading with students one on one helps prevent the summer slide for children who attend the camp.
In 2018, we will be helping the mornings of July 16-19. You can volunteer for the whole week or individual days depending on your schedule. Hours of volunteering are 9:30 am – 12:00 pm.Requirements: 1) Be able to read. 2) Be 14 years or older. 3) Be Ministry Safe certified (18+). If needed, instructions for completing Ministry Safe training will be provided following your registration.
