TCU Concert Chorale
Sunday, April 29, 2018 | 7:30 pm
The concert theme is Let My Love Be Heard, and features music spanning the centuries that takes us on a journey from a place of loneliness to peace and salvation. The hour-long program will be in a collage format, stitching together spoken and sung word. Classics by Bach, Brahms, Fauré, and Howells are balanced with newer works by Daniel Elder, Matthew Harris and Jean Belmont. Additionally, René Clausen's brilliant Laudate and a new arrangement of a Shaker Hymn, Hallelujah, create invigorating and colorful moments in the program. The TCU Concert Chorale is made up of students from a variety of disciplines across campus and recognize the important role of the arts in their personal and professional development.
Join us for an evening of the music of John Rutter. Selections will include some of your favorite anthems, in addition to Feel the Spirit, Rutter's cycle of American Spirituals. Joining the Chancel Choir and Orchestra will be mezzo-soprano, Natalie Mitchell. Natalie was awarded a scholarship to study at Julliard and sang with the Metropolitan Opera for three seasons. You will enjoy this delightful evening of beautiful music.
