Our 2017-2018 course is entitled “The Elusive Paul: A Misunderstood And Controversial Apostle.” It’s designed to introduce the class to current and at times controversial thought among biblical scholars about the historical Apostle Paul.
Who was Paul? What did he do? How did he interact with his contemporaries? What did he really say? Was he the narrow-minded dogmatist, the supporter of slavery and anti-Semitism, or the male chauvinist that we often hear about? How different (if at all) was his message from what Jesus taught? Everyone is invited to discover the Paul we never knew.
